English

English (specifically, British English) is my first language, so you are welcome to leave comments or requests in English as well as in Manx. I don't really understand the other forms of Gaelic except where there's a lot of overlap with Manx. German, Welsh and Mandarin Chinese are also okay, although I can't promise to give fluent replies (I do my best).

Translations

I usually have projects already in mind; however, I am willing to do translations if you ask nicely! I prefer subjects where I have personal knowledge (so I don't make silly mistakes) and articles with good references. Because not many people read Manx, and there aren't many of us to keep track of things, if we translate incorrect articles it could be a good while before we find out. I'll also add some disclaimers:

• if you request translation of a very long article, I will probably produce a much shorter version because of time constraints;
• if your request is for a very technical or complex subject, I may not understand it well enough (in any language) to produce a translation I'm happy with. Alternatively I may not be able to find suitable vocabulary;
• if your request is for a very minor subject I may take a very long time to get around to it;
• I won't translate articles unless I think I can do a good job. So probably not highly controversial topics, minor fads, or anything where I'm not convinced I can produce a high-quality and worthwhile article.
