[edit source]Haigh, MacTire01. Agus fáilte. Go raibh maith agat as do chuid iarrachtaí ar na h-ailt faoi bailte i gContae na Mí! Gabh mo leithscéal as mo chuid "cheek", ach an féidir leat an cnaipe "Taispeáin réamhamhairc" a úsáid agus athrú a dhéanamh? Sula ndéanann tú sábháil ar leathanach éigin? Mar sin, is féidir go leor athruithe a dhéanamh le sábháil amháin, agus níl an iomarca linte ar an leathanch "n-athruithe is déanaí". (It also makes editting "faster" and it means fewer committed changes - which in turn means reduced space requirements in Wikipedia version control database). [Apologies for the impertience]. Go raibh maith agat. Guliolopez 17:20, 22 Feabhra 2007 (UTC)
Tá Bosca Sonraí nua déanta agam dos na mBallaonaid Chónaidhm na Rúise. Agus ailt nua á cruthú agat, an mbheifeá ábalta úsáid a bhaint as? Más mian leat úsáid a bhaint as an teimpléad, féach ar "An tSeisnia". GRMA. Guliolopez 22:57, 17 Nollaig 2007 (UTC)
- Buíochas agus go raibh maith agat! :) Tá jab maith déanta agat anseo le déanaí. Beir bua! Guliolopez 13:11, 18 Nollaig 2007 (UTC)

Sílim go bhfuil jab an-mhaith déanta agat leis an Teimpléad:Teanga. Bronnaim an Working Man's Barnstar ort. Is é seo an duais a thabhairt chuig daoine a dhéanann a lán obair dian, leadránach, ní ag bac leis an mbuíochas :) (The Working Man's Barnstar may be awarded to those who work tirelessly and endlessly on the more laborious or repetitive of Wikipedia tasks. :) |

[edit source]Gabh mo leithscéal a chara, táim cineál ciotach leis na ríomhairí, níor thuigeas gur tusa a bhí a cabhrú liom, cheapas gur uathoibríocht an ríomhaire a bhí i gceist. Tuigim, chomh maith, ar a laghad cuid de ghramadach na teanga, ach ní raibheas i ndiaidh súil siar a chaitheamh ar m'obair, go raibh maith agat, ach maith dom é b'é an chéad alt a scríobhas.

Íomhánna ar vicíonna eile
[edit source]Haigh, a Mactíre. Regarding images on other wikis, what is it you'd like to know? Is it about moving images to Commons from, say, enwiki? Cur ríomhphost chugam, más maith leat :) - Alison ❤ 18:00, 5 Feabhra 2008 (UTC)
- Seo dhuit! Tá siad ar an Cómhaoin anois. Bhí a lán fadhbanna faoin ceadúnais agus rudaí mar sin, ach tá siad ceart go leór anois :)
Taoide thuile!!
[edit source]Féach anseo. Is dócha go bhfuil an "translathon" a bhí fógratha anseo tosnaithe acu i UCD. Hence 1 new article every 2 minutes. (Or - at least - I can't explain this increase any other way). Chonaic mé go bhfuil roinnt "wikification" déanta agat in alt nó dhó. Nílim cinnte an modh oibre a bhaint liom féin. (Do I wait for the tide to subside, and then tidy up the debris? Or do I try and keep bailing water?) Constant baling might sap all energies, so I'm gonna sit back for a while. Guliolopez 18:14, 8 Feabhra 2008 (UTC)
- Translathon is ea é cinnte. Beidh mé ag fanacht ar feadh uair nó mar sin. Go at it now and it might sap energy. MacTire01 18:37, 8 Feabhra 2008 (UTC)
Твоя помощь нужна
[edit source]MacTire01, you are speaking gaelic and russian. This combination makes You to be "gold" for us :-) We're planning to create articles of all irish towns and villages in the russian section of the Wikipedia. If would be great, if you would join our team. Especially we need to transcript gaelic names to russian (cyrillic letters). Can we count on Your support? --Obersachse 11:47, 5 Aibreán 2008 (UTC)
- Конечно можно! Вы можете найти меня на русской Википедии здесь MacTire01 14:48, 5 Aibreán 2008 (UTC)
Birmingham City F.C.
[edit source]In a recent edit you made to Birmingham City F.C., you took out and put ina few players, and tidied it up. Is the squad completely up to date or did you just take out some of them you knew were gone?--Lansdowneroad 11:57, 5 Iúil 2008 (UTC)
- Squad is completely up to date as of 1st July '08. I haven't been active on the Irish language project for a while now but i do like to keep my team up to date ;-) --MacTire01 11:59, 5 Iúil 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. That information was valuable. I don't know anything at all about Birmingham City F.C.--Lansdowneroad 12:00, 5 Iúil 2008 (UTC)
- Fáilte romhat! --MacTire01 12:02, 5 Iúil 2008 (UTC)
Idir-vicí
[edit source]Go raibh maith agat, a MT02. Ach nílim cinnte go dtuigim. Nach gcuirfidh siad an nasc ar en.wikipedia agus ar uile má tá nasc IV ar an alt anseo? Mar shampla, chuir Thijs!bot an nasc ga:Faing ar an leathanach en:Foynes. Tameamseo 20:13, 12 Lúnasa 2008 (UTC)
- Mo bhrón, cheap mé mura bhfuil nasc chuig an leagan Gaeilge ar vicí eile, nach raibh na róbónna ábalta naisc a chur isteach sna vicíonna eile chuig an leagan Gaeilge. Ná bac liom! :-) --MacTire02 13:39, 13 Lúnasa 2008 (UTC)

[edit source]Táim sásta neamhiontas a dhéanamh di anois. Ionas nach n'aistreoidh sí aon rud in ailt chuí, nílim chun aon rud eile a dhéanamh. Táim tuirseach leis anois. Níl gar a bheith léi. Guliolopez 00:09, 11 Samhain 2008 (UTC)
- Aontaím leat a Ghulio. Cheap mé nach raibh mé ag déanamh ach maitheas. Á bhuel! Cad le déanamh leis a leithéad?? --MacTire02 11:23, 11 Samhain 2008 (UTC)
Róbó ar Vicipéid Mhanainn?
[edit source]Haigh, a Mhactíre :) Tá róbó againn anseo anois, agus í ag cur teimpléid 'fáilte' ar phlé úsáideora nua. Freisin, tá sé ag glanadh athsheolta briste "Broken redirects" agus athsheolta dúbailte. An maith libh iad céanna ar gv.wikipedia? Tá sé an-éasca é sin a chruthaigh, más maith leat! :) - Alison ❤ 23:00, 28 Eanáir 2009 (UTC)
- Beidh fáilte roimh an saghas róbó sin ar gv.wikipedia. Go raibh míle maith agat, a Alison. Ó agus tá vóta nua ann ag an Lárionad Chomhphobail son riarthóir buan a roghnú. Más féidir leat, caith do vóta ann freisin. Dúirt Birdy dá mbeadh trí vóta ann ar mo shon, is féidir liom bheith i mo riarthóir buan. GRMMA --MacTire02 00:01, 29 Eanáir 2009 (UTC)
Cat sort - Polaiteoirí na hÍoslainne
[edit source]Haigh. Cúis ar leith na polaiteoirí sin a sórtáil mar "FIRSTNAME LASTNAME"? When the standard convention is "LASTNAME, FIRSTNAME"? (A little unsure why you changed them all...) Guliolopez 10:38, 4 Feabhra 2009 (UTC)
- In Icelandic the first name is the name given to the person in all cases including alphabetisation. There is no such thing as a surname in Icelandic per se, rather the person takes the name of their father. To categorise a person by their English-understood (or French-, Irish- etc.) surname is considered derogatory in Icelandic. For example, if you were to meet Ásta Ragnheiður Jóhannesdóttir (member of the Althing) you would be expected to call her Ásta and not, for example, Mrs. Jóhannesdóttir etc. (which itself doesn't make sense as it would mean Wife of the daughter of Jóhann). On the English Wikipedia it is customary also to categorise people by "LASTNAME, FIRSTNAME" but Icelanders are an exception being categorised "FIRSTNAME LASTNAME". See en:Category:Members of the Althing for an example of this. MacTire02 10:50, 4 Feabhra 2009 (UTC)
- Ah. Thought it was something like that. Thanks for the lesson :) Guliolopez 11:32, 4 Feabhra 2009 (UTC)
- No worries. :) --MacTire02 12:37, 4 Feabhra 2009 (UTC)
Rugby DID influence Aussie Rules
[edit source]"D'fhás peil Astrálach as peil Ghaelach, ní as rugbaí"
Not strictly true. While the two games are VERY similar, it is by no means proven that Aussie rules comes out of Gaelic football. Some people think it was influenced by an Aboriginal game as well called Marn Grook.
However, it CAN be proven that Aussie rules WAS influenced by cricket (in the shape of the field) and rugby, since the founding father of the game was Tom Wills, who attended rugby school.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Wills http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marn_Grook http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origins_of_Australian_rules_football
- Yes but to say it only evolved from rugby as was written in the article is misleading. If I went to rugby school and then went on to develop a game with a similar ball that wouldn't necessarily imply that rugby school shaped the game. The fact is there were many influences and to say that it was exclusively from rugby, as I said, is misleading. --MacTire02 15:00, 13 Lúnasa 2009 (UTC)
